Like many who draws, I tried my hand at drawing a set of Tarot cards.
Well, not really, because I did not use the standard seeds for the Minor Arcana (i.e. the playing cards) and I can easily be accused of blatant disregard for the traditional iconography of the Tarots.
Truth be told, I wanted just some kind of big-ish project to follow that did not require the steadiness of mindset that making a comics really required. I did not think that I would finish it - as I did - nor about what to do next.
I did not really believe in its commercial value - a lot less than my friend BlackDaVinci does - and I mostly thought about it as something to leave behind in case I suddenly croak.
Anyway, I have done it. I must decide for a final print format and see how it expensive it will be to get them printed - it would necessarily be a small run, no photolithography - and shipped, but it is costing me a lot to just gather the courage to take and to go a printing shop.
If it does not work out, it is a little heartbreak. If it does, it risks bringing me out of the shadows of the web. Both results frighten me - God, I am pathetic.
Anyway, you may have seen some of them before, but here's a small selection of the cards. As you may notice, my Minor Arcana seeds are Clamps and Cups (tits, really, but it felt a bit too crass to use them directly), Dildos and Pears (of Anguish).
For the time being, I live you with the Major Arcana that I like the most, the Devil. And may Robert Mapplethorpe forgive me for making a woman out of him.
